In Spring of 2011 a small group of Rat Terrier Fanciers in Canada joined together to discuss the possibility of starting a National Club and pursuing breed recognition with the Canadian Kennel Club.

What is our objective?

  1. For all Canadian breeders, owners, and fanciers of the Rat Terrier, to have a place to come together and share knowledge, information, & pictures about these amazing dogs.
  2. To increase awareness of the Rat Terrier within Canada.
  3. To have the Rat Terrier recognized by the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC). (-January 2015 – CKC moved to approve the Rat Terrier application and placed the breed on the Miscellaneous List; confirming eligibility to show (in Terrier Group) beginning July 1, 2015)
  4. To share links & information related to Rat Terriers such breeders, other clubs, organizations, etc.
